November: AHRI, Industry Research to Support the Refrigerant Transition

View from Earth

Industry professionals and academics alike joined us in November for a conversation with Dr. Xudong Wang, head of research at the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute.

Watch the video

Join EARTH* for a presentation by Dr. Xudong Wang, Vice President of Research at the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).

Dr. Wang has been at the helm of some of the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) industry's most significant research programs throughout his 20-year career, including those related to the refrigerant transition, heat pumps, and other technologies. His contributions continue to address common HVACR industry challenges and guide product development and policy.

Researchers, students, and industry professionals attending this presentation will gain insight on:

  • AHRI—a trade association representing international HVACR and water heating
equipment manufacturers— and its key role in the U.S. refrigerant transition
  • The collaborative research programs being led by AHRI to support the refrigerant transition, including the Low-GWP Alternative Refrigerants Program and its expansion to identify and test next-generation refrigerants
  • Key factors to consider as we move forward with the refrigerant transition and resources available to the public, including fact sheets, presentations, and reports
