Alborz Nasseri

Alborz Nasseri is a rising Junior at Northern Illinois University majoring in Biology with a Chemistry minor; he will be working with EARTH Faculty member, Dr. Xu Han, this summer optimizing phase change material design for all U.S. climate zones to reduce building energy consumption, CO₂ emissions, and HFC gas emissions, by selecting optimal melting points and thicknesses for each climate zone to maximize greenhouse gas reductions. He is most excited to gain research experience, interact and learn from experienced researchers and faculty, and collaborate with fellow REU students while developing valuable skills in scientific research and problem solving.
